I went a little crazy during the creative process. I wrote a manifesto about how we would replace Joseph Campbell’s “Hero’s Journey” with the “Fool’s Journey.” It involved many diagrams. I was expecting the writers of the show to become familiar with Tarot and the Hermetic interpretation of Kabbalah. I was really on one. None of these concepts really appear in the pilot…probably because I spent almost all of my time and energy building set pieces and making diagrams rather than writing a script. I’m thankful for everyone who helped make this happen, especially Marc Santo, who is the main reason this show happened.
Also none of us knew how to act.
